Sorry to respond so late, I had many problems with my mail server.

Hiding fields does'nt allow to get the infomation. For example if we do a 
form representing the salary of someone. It could be nice that the 
employee can only see is salary (without the possibility to modify it), 
and the employeer should be able to see and modify.
