New submission from Martijn Faassen <faassen at infrae.com>:
In order to better showcase Silva's ability to present different layouts
to the end user, we need to integrate functionality within the Silva UI
where this can be easily configured.
I envision something like a Silva Layout Pack, which contains one (or more?)
layouts consisting of some page templates and python scripts. Silva Publications
(including the root) gain a user interface (where?) where a list of layouts
is presented, the one that is currently active (if any) is shown as selected,
and the user can make a change (if Manager and up). The new templates are
then copied into this publication and the public presentation changes at once.
This makes for a great demo and can also be used to manage multiple layouts
for a site.
The ability to make this change can be turned off for a particular branch of a
site so mistakes can be avoided. Care must also be taken not to wantonly
overwrite entirely custom layouts that a user has in place. It should also
be relatively easy to turn something into a layout pack so that this can
be distributed, important for large installations of Silva.
