[silva-dev] FileSystemSite version requirement

What's up with the FileSystemSite dependency? Finally sitting down
this weekend to update the FreeBSD port from 0.9.3 to current stable
0.9.3.6 ... i hadn't noticed in the 0.9.3 release this fun line:
"FileSystemSite (1.4) - not released yet at the time writing, but
included in the "all" tarball."
I assume the difficulty is that you guys needed fixes or enhancements,
but want to release your stuff without waiting for the dependency
to be released. Well enough for the "all" package; but makes
things somewhat messy for those trying to maintain a clean system
with the separate packages...
This is one of the major frustrations with Plone i've had in the
past. They included an old version of Formulator which was
required; and more recently have depended on alpha/beta/whatever
specific versions of archetypes in their releases (actually it was Plone
Collector that caused the most headaches with archetypes versions, if i recall
correctly)... ouch.
The FreeBSD Silva port is currently depending on FileSystemSite 1.3,
the latest real release of that product. Is this a big problem? It's been
quite some time now, and there is still no FileSystemSite 1.4
release. Is the maintainer/developer just being slow, or is there a
reason you know of? Doesn't FileSystemSite 1.3 seriously break Silva?
I guess I'll go ahead and update all the Silva ports and dependencies
and leave it with FileSystemSite 1.3, as it is that now... so probably
won't be any worse than now, at least... no one has complained to me yet
about this. Possibly no one is using any file system based stuff with Silva.
Possibly no one is using the Silva FreeBSD port. Who knows.
Anyhow... any thoughts?
