Well, if I understand you correctly, there's actually a problem in the (Silva) 
code anyway: setValueFromRequest() doensn't pass the reindex flag, does it?

I think this is a bug.

After having a look, I now even wonder if the Silva core might not trigger 
reindexing enough at all... This needs closer examination. I'll create an issue 
for this.
