With this question your raising the "code in the ZODB is evil" issue.
Code Sources are zexp files, meant to be imported into your Silva when
needed. But then you have logic and layout in the ZODB, not on the
file system.

We may want to change the Code Sources so they 'live' on the file
system, but can be imported when needed. The Inline News Viewer
(another gem from Marc that we incorporated in SNN) works this way
now. This would be a best-of-both-worlds solution, allowing
customization and remote development (on a server, as opposed to your
personal machine) but keeping the base code on the file system where
it can be versioned in a repository.
